We were surprised how hard it is to find nice, soft, and affordable undyed yarns to pair with other colors. These are the same yarns used by indie dyers, just in their natural state. Most are ecru, some have natural color due to animal fiber used; yak yarns are grey-brown because of the brown yak down and camel yarns are a warm tan because of the camel down.
Perfect for pairing with another yarn or for your dyeing experiments. If you do dye these yarns make sure you don't boil them as that may cause the to felt. After dyeing, allow the yarn to cool to room temperature before coming out of the dye bath. Hot yarn hitting cool air can also cause felting.

Alpaca - Silk Bouclé
77% Baby Alpaca / 23% Silk
Fingering Weight
437 yards / 100g
A soft and luscious yarn, this bouclé has small loops that are less likely to get caught by your needle or hook. The shine of the silk really comes through on this yarn. It is great as a carry along yarn with a smooth or fluffy yarn.
Camel - Silk Fingering
50% Baby Camel Down / 50% Silk
Fingering Weight
437 yards / 100g
The camel down gives a rich, warm tan color and tremendous softness; the silk gives shine, so much shine, and drape, so much drape. Perfect for shawls, and accessories or to carry along with another yarn. Expect garments made from this to stretch.
Merino - Linen Sock
80% 18.5 micron Merino / 20% Linen
Fingering Weight
437 yards / 100g
Linen is acting as reinforcement (instead of nylon) in this handwash sock yarn. Expect this yarn to soften over time as the linen breaks in. If you do use it to make socks, you may get slight felting especially on the areas that rub against your shoes. Don't limit yourself to socks though! This would make a lovely warm weather top.
