Radicle Threads Magazine always pulls together a lovely collection of patterns (in knit and crochet), tutorials, recipes, and interesting articles. This issue is no different. There are beautiful, size-inclusive patterns for sweaters and accessories, a macrame tutorial, travel and knitwear designing articles, tutorials on grafting fruit trees and growing air plant, and a bunch of really delicious looking recipes.
In botany, the radicle is the first part of a seedling to emerge from the seed during the process of germination. A very fitting name for this BBIMP-led publication that hopes to usher in a new era of diverse voices in the fiber arts community. From their "about" section of their website:
"Radicle Threads is a BBIMP grassroots company that aims to create a sustainable, ethical, and equitable online and print publication with a focus on crafting. Our mission is to uplift, amplify, and empower BBIMP voices and to share our knowledge, skills, and experiences with the goal of increasing accessibility for all.
*Please note* BBIMP, Black, Brown, Indigenous, Melanated People is created by Louiza “Weeze” Doran @accordingtoweeze. We understand and realize that we are not a monolith and our views, thoughts, and opinions are representative of us, our contributors, and not all BBIMP."
