When the Compatible Cashmere came in, I couldn't help myself. I had to cast on something with it. I knew I wanted a very simple pattern. Little Boomerang is the result. It has a two row repeat that slowly increases from a 5 stitches. It can be made as large as you like. The pattern as written is for 2 skeins (50g total) of Compatible Cashmere. It measures 18 inches wide, 28 inches long and 36 inches along the long curved edge. Perfect for a little neckerchief or head scarf.
You can make this with any yarn you choose. Match the needle size to the yarn; it should be a couple of sizes larger than the recommended needle size so it is soft and drapey. It is a simple 2 row repeat. Knit until you run out of yarn or until it reaches the size you want.
Since the original, we have made more versions with other yarns. A not-so-little version using one skein of Laines du Nord Poema Alpaca (color #20), a color changing bulky weight brushed alpaca yarn. It makes a shawl that measures 44 inches wide, 62 inches long, and 85 inches along the long curved edge.
Our bling version uses one skein of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (Pink Daisies) held with one skein of Cotton Gold (color # 1099 - purple with purple sequins). It measures 26 inches wide, 34 inches long and 51 inches along the long curved edge. Modeled by our lovely friend True. We have kits of the bling version available here.
