Maia Discoe designed this easy yet satisfying hat for any Aran weight yarn. Township is a simple slouchy hat with an understated pattern. It is worked from the bottom up using a lovely slipped stitch ribbing that I have loved for years. The ribbing transitions into stockinette with the slipped stitch maintained for a subtle and simple texture. A perfect quick, one skein project for a beginning or advanced knitter. The hat has a loose fit. If you like a snugger fit, go down a size. It can be made as a beanie or slouchy as shown.

Recommended yarns: &Make Aran and Germantown. Aireado, would also be lovely though the stitch definition will be somewhat obscured by the yummy fluffy halo of Aireado.
