Most people who are new to felting choose to start on foam to keep costs down while they are just trying it out. Keep in mind a firm foam mat will hold up awhile (depending on the types of projects you're doing) but will need to be replaced once it starts to break down. We also carry Wool Felting Mats.
The 10 x 10 inch Mat is a nice size foam mat, big enough for most projects. This is the recommended size for the painting with wool kits and coloring with wool kits which get framed in a 7 in. embroidery hoop. Measures 10 in. square, and 2 in. thick.
The 3 x 3 inch Mat is a tiny little mat measure 3x3x1.5. They are made of the same type of foam as the larger mats. The perfect size if you're mending a hole or embellishing a pocket. Sold as a set of 4.
