Dads, and guys in general, seem to be the hardest people to find gifts for. Likewise there's not a lot of great, masculine sock patterns that aren’t super boring to knit. Chase designed these socks when she came up against the problem of finding a pleasing yet not-too-busy pattern for her father's yuletide socks. He likes cars and likes to put his feet up, so she created a racing-stripe-like fading rib pattern that continues up the front of the sock only. It combines a toe made with Judy's Magic Cast-On and a simple Fleegle heel that doesn't require any picking up of stitches or grafting, making it a quick, easy, and satisfying knit. Pattern includes tips on shaping for larger calves.
Yarn: any sock yarn with at least 400 yards in a 100g skein.
Needles: US1.5 (2.5mm) the pattern is designed for double pointed needles with guidance on converting to magic loop.
