Sourced from The Bare Ranch in California and Espil Sheep Company in Nevada, the Rambouillet wool in these yarns (raised by one of our heroes, female rancher Lani Estill), is Fibershed Certified and Climate Beneficial. These are hands-down the softest, most beautiful non-superwash American wool yarns we've ever had the pleasure of squishing. They also bloom brilliantly when blocked, making for the most gorgeous garments.
The wool is processed and spun in Wyoming using a combed preparation, which makes for the highest quality, most luxurious yarns, and ultimately reduces piling of your finished product. All of these gorgeous colors are natural, undyed wools just as they grow on the sheep, and they're even prepared for the dye pot if you're so inclined! Gentle hand-washing is a MUST for these non-superwash wools.
Colorways include:
Home Camp Obsidian: pure black Rambouillet wool (actually a dark chocolate brown).
Home Camp Charcoal: slightly lighter than Obsidian, and slightly more heathered.
Home Camp Shale: a light silver grey/oatmeal, and highly heathered - a fan favorite.
Rye Patch Snow: pure ecru Rambouillet wool (a slightly warm off-white perfect for dyeing too).
