We were surprised how hard it is to find nice, soft, and affordable undyed yarns to pair with other colors. These are the same yarns used by indie dyers, just in their natural state. Most are ecru, some like the yak yarns are grey due to the natural color of the animal fiber.
If a yarn is called out as a sock yarn, we feel it will work well for socks. Other yarns are designed for garments that don't receive the same hard wear that socks are subject to. Looking for more undyed non-superwash yarns? Find them here.

All yarns labeled Superwash are machine washable on the gentle cycle with cool water and lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low. Hand washing is recommended to extend the life and beauty of your finished pieces. If you have combined colors that may bleed into each other, be sure to use a cool water for washing and rinsing and add a Color Catcher sheet if needed, they work great!
