Severn has dreamy shine and drape! Think silk, but vegan. It is soft and lightweight, perfect for summer tops and shawls. Knitters who have struggled with cotton in past may find Severn more approachable, since it is less drying on the hands. It does not have much hold, so it grows with time and blocking--we wouldn't recommend it for colorwork or similar projects.

100% Tencel
437 yards / 100g / 4-ply

The gorgeous crochet sample is Calad Shirt by Jessica Tsung in Sage and Botanist colorways.

The shawl sample is Out of Winter Shawl by Tamy Gore in Garlic (Coconut Rum with substitute well) and Sage colorways.

Lyla is the dyer behind Terrapin Fiberworks. She's been dyeing plant yarns since 2021 and loving every messy second of it. She lives in Maryland with her husband, two cats, and tiny parrot. Nachos are her kryptonite.

She learned to crochet before she learned to knit, which is how plant yarns first wooed her. Crocheters love a good cotton yarn! She's made it her mission to explore a variety of rich, earthy, and wearable colors with Terrapin Fiberworks. She's here to make beautiful things and try her best to take care of the earth and those living on it as she goes.

She'd like to acknowledge and thank the Piscataway, Nacotchtank, and Susquehannock peoples on whose traditional, unceded and stolen territories she lives & works to create her yarns.
