Knit-In for International Women's Day

Wednesday, March 8th is International Women's Day, but it's also the day we have declared "A Day Without a Woman". On this day the organizers of the Women's March on Washington are calling for women to stage a general strike - don't go to work, don't participate in capitalism, and wear red to bring awareness to the cause. They also state that if you must spend money that day, be sure it is only at small women-owned businesses.
So we here at The Black Squirrel want to help, as we are not only a small woman-owned business, but the majority of the products we carry are designed and made by small, woman-owned businesses. We will be hosting a knit-in like the one we had on Inauguration Day, so feel free to come to the shop any time from opening till 10 p.m. and be in our warm, safe, friendly space for as long as you like.

Please click here to go to the Facebook event page. Be sure to RSVP and share as much as you can!

As always we will provide free coffee and tea, plus some snacks, but please feel free to bring snacks to share with others too! We will also be providing free post cards for those who wish to use them to write to our senators and congresspeople. Hope to see you there!
