This beautiful design by Kacey uses sport weight yarn. The main color should be a 100g skein and the contrast color can be either a 50g or 100g skein. If you get a 100g skein of each color, you can make a second cowl by reversing the main and contrasting colors.

"It all started with a chart and a swatch. When I design colorwork, I often keep in mind beginner knitters learning to carry two strands at a time, and creating memorizable and readable repeats. The pattern looks great with a Light Contrast Color and a Dark Main Color or vice verse. For your convenience, two versions of the chart are provided - use the version that closely matches your chosen colors, but keep in mind that the same chart is used throughout the pattern."
