These socks are based on our favorite sock recipe, and one day, partly inspired by the wild color scheme my husband chose for a new pair of socks, I threw caution to the wind because I wanted to know what would happen if I tried a contrasting heel color on the Fleegle heel. What it turned into was an upside-down triangle of color right on the back of the heel, and it reminded me of a caution sign! And thus, the Safety Third Socks were born!Read More
Dads, and guys in general, seem to be the hardest to find gifts for, and likewise there's not a lot of great, masculine sock patterns that aren’t super boring to knit. I designed these socks when I came up against the problem of finding a pleasing yet not-too-busy pattern for my father's yuletide socks. This free pattern was inspired by the beautiful rainbow yarn from Knits and Knots Tahoe. It is a great intro pattern for those who haven't tried shawl knitting yet, and a fun, quick knit for advanced knitters. We've also partnered with Knits and Knots Tahoe and Forbidden Woolery to put together a kit at a special price, which is now for sale in our online shop!Read More
Many years ago I attended an Easter party at a friend's house and it was such a lovely time, not only for the company (and her pet bunnies hopping around the yard), but also for the cute treats one of her friends brought to share - real hollow dyed eggs filled with jelly beans! I'm always a big fan of party favors for kids and adults alike, and this year I'm hosting brunch and wanted to recreate those eggs. They're quick, easy, and sure to delight your guests when hidden around the party for them to find. And you most likely already have everything you need to make them!Read More
